On 23 December, 2008, we celebrated Toby's 2nd birthday.  Because Daddy was still in Afghanistan when Sebastian turned 3, we had a joint birthday party - complete with an extra large Bob the Builder birthday cake with "Happy Birthday Sebastian" on one side and "Happy Birthday Tobias" on the other.  We had a few friends over for an evening party of chicken nuggets and fries, then cake and ice cream.  It was a very nice party, the boys were happy to have Daddy there for the party.  Definitely worth waiting for, even for a  3-year old!

Can you believe this is the first time I've played "Patty-Cake" with my children?
Sebastian likes to hold Toby's hand when they're walking.  It's very helpful for mom and dad!

The First Annual X-Treme Mud Racing Event at the Guam Raceway Park, 14 Dec 2008.  We got there at 10 am, event start time, but the first race didn't start until after 12 - a typical island-style event all the way!  The boys loved it, however, we didn't stay for much more than an hour after the racing started - too hot out in the sun.  We did win a fabulous, extra large NAPA Autoparts umbrella, so I guess it was all worth it in the end!

Our outside Christmas decorations.
Visiting the Train Display at the Friary.

Jason and I left the boys with my friend Jenny for the day while we did some christmas shopping and had a relaxing lunch at a place Sebastian and Tobias would not appreciate!  When I went to pick them up, Sebastian didn't want to leave!  So Jenny walked him home while I drove Toby.  Sebastian wanted to hold Lyrique's hand the whole time.

Toby was definitely ready to leave when I got there.  He cried for the first hour we were gone until he fell asleep, right in front of the door - he wouldn't leave the spot where he last saw Mommy!  Poor baby!

Sebastian helped Daddy assemble the Christmas Tree this year.  You can get live trees on Guam, but it just wouldn't seem right.  A palm tree would make more sense, but I don't think we could fit one in the living room.
The Christmas Train at the Micronesia Mall - Toby had to sit out the first ride - he was pretty upset.  Then for rides 2 and 3, Sebastian got to sit up in the front of the train, which he thought was super cool.  At first Toby was concerned when he couldn't see his brother, but after a trip around, he got into it, yelling "choo-choo" as he passed me by.  I sat out all rides this year - even the merry-go-round makes me sick when I'm pregnant.

At the Micronesia Mall Amusement Park - Sebastian wanted to ride the Dinosaur Train (really a Dragon Train), but he changed his mind when he got up close to it.  He'd been talking about it for weeks before Daddy got home, too.  He was also bit scared of the Merry-Go-Round, but he loved the bumper cars.

Toby was too small for most of the rides, but he liked the little cars.
